Hello ALL:
Tomorrow (8/3/12) the following important documents will be received from City Inspector's office and will posted on this board -
-Updated Correction Order (*Date Vacate & Desist is to be enforced MAY BE EXTENDED. This updated order should tell us what date to expect to have to be out of our homes.)
-Copies of Official Reports for all Boydell properties - that will outline IF A VALID CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY IS IN PLACE FOR EACH BUILDING.
Boydell's lack of COO's for all 11 of its buildings was confirmed THROUGH THE CITY INSPECTOR'S OFFICE. However, official reports for each individual building were not printed out. They will be tomorrow.

Due to normal Detroit pace - We may have to wait until Monday for copies of the above listed documents. I will sit in that office ALL DAY MONDAY if I have to! WE WILL HAVE THEM BY MONDAY!

The Grand Lofts posted a Certificate of Rental Registration in the window of the office.....dated for 8/2/12 until 8/2/13. Is this the same thing as a Certificate of Occupancy?

NO! THESE ARE NOT THE SAME THING! Rental registration simply means they filled out a form to register their building into the City's computer system for rentals. IT IS NOT A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY AND CAN BE RECEIVED WITHOUT HAVING A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY!
A Certificate of Occupancy means ALL INSPECTIONS WERE PASSED AND ALL PERMITS FOR ALL WORK DONE WERE RECEIVED AND APPROVED.
AGAIN-
Rental Registration requires NOTHING but filing out a form.
YOU NEED TO ASK TO HAVE A COPY OF THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY - THIS IS THE ONLY DOCUMENT THAT SHOWS A BUILDING IS OPERATING LEGALLY.
